{"id":8462,"date":"2025-01-08T12:20:12","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T18:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/healthsecurity\/transmission\/?p=8462"},"modified":"2025-01-08T12:20:18","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T18:20:18","slug":"new-research-from-univ-of-minnesota-targets-hpais-impact-on-wildlife","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/healthsecurity\/transmission\/2025\/01\/08\/new-research-from-univ-of-minnesota-targets-hpais-impact-on-wildlife\/","title":{"rendered":"New research from Univ of Minnesota targets HPAI\u2019s impact on wildlife"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meatpoultry.com\/articles\/31296-new-research-from-u-of-m-targets-hpais-impact-on-wildlife\">MeatPoultry<\/a> Minnesota Governor Tim Walz approved $1.267 million in funding from the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) to support research on highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the funding, researchers at the University of Minnesota\u2019s (U of M) College of Veterinary Medicine will collaborate with state, federal and local partners to ramp up testing of HPAI in wildlife and better understand the threat of the disease beyond the state\u2019s wild and domestic bird populations.
