The flu is raging across the United States \u2014 and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/flu-burden\/php\/data-vis\/2024-2025.htmlhttps:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/fluview\/surveillance\/2025-week-02.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expect cases will r<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/fluview\/surveillance\/2025-week-02.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">emain high<\/a>&nbsp;over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s out of control,\u201d said Dr. Sean Liu, an associate professor of infectious diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. The C.D.C. estimates that there have been at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/fluview\/surveillance\/2025-week-02.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">least 12 million flu<\/a>&nbsp;infections so far this season, leading to 160,000 hospitalizations and 6,600 deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doctors frequently prescribe Tamiflu, an antiviral medication, to people who are at high risk of becoming seriously ill from the flu. The drug can ease symptoms and help people recover a bit faster.
