Rwanda swiftly brought its recent outbreak of Marburg to a close at the end of December. The government\u2019s response \u2014 which took less than three months \u2014 was seen as a blueprint on how to efficiently control an outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever a Marburg outbreak emerges, it\u2019s alarming because it\u2019s one of the deadliest pathogens to infect humans. There is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.devex.com\/news\/who-releases-3-million-to-address-marburg-outbreak-in-tanzania-109110\">an ongoing outbreak in Tanzania<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The disease, which is similar to Ebola, infects people who have prolonged exposure to bat colonies.
