The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/science\/2025\/03\/05\/nih-trump-turmoil-grants\/\">National Institutes of Health<\/a>&nbsp;will cancel or cut back dozens of grants for research on why some people are reluctant to be vaccinated and how to increase acceptance of vaccines, according to an internal email obtained by The Washington Post on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The email, titled \u201crequired terminations \u2014 3\/10\/25,\u201d shows that on Monday morning, the agency \u201creceived a new list \u2026 of awards that need to be terminated, today. It has been determined they do not align with NIH funding priorities related to vaccine hesitancy and\/or uptake.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the new secretary of NIH\u2019s parent agency, the Department of Health and Human Services,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/health\/2025\/01\/28\/rfk-jr-disparaged-vaccines-dozens-times-recent-years-misled-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;has disparaged vaccines<\/a>&nbsp;for years.
