UNMC uses many methods to disseminate information during campus emergencies. We use our UNMC ALERTS emergency notification system. It can send emergency notification messages out via e-mail, computer screen crawler, text messages to cell phones and text alphanumeric pagers.
Sign Up for Alerts
- Begin at the Quick Links tab - then click on or scroll down to “U”
- Click on “UNMC Alerts - UNMC and TNMC Employees”
- Enter your network ID and look for the “UNMC Alerts” link on the banner
- Click on "sign-up as a new user." You must have your devices with you to send confirmation codes so they can be validated. A link to information and detailed setup instructions are available on the on the Safety website.
Threats – If you see something, Say Something – report threats involving UNMC and suspicious campus events your supervisor and/or security at 402-559-5111.
Youth Protection - State Law requires reporting by anyone who suspects or is aware of any child abuse or neglect, including sexual assault to the State Department of Health or local police department. After notifying the Police Department or Nebraska DHHS contact Campus Security at 402-559-5111 to inform them. Reporting to your supervisor or security does NOT meet your requirements under the law.
