Become a faculty \u201cfirst responder\u201d to student issues.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students may be struggling academically, psychologically, or emotionally, and as a role model to many students, you are in a valuable position to help out. Being a student is a balancing act, juggling preparation, study skills, learning styles, and employment. Sometimes, it can just be too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This session<\/a> will give you information and resources available to students and faculty, covering a multitude of potential issues that UNMC members can find help for. Know the resources, help your students acclimate to the college experience, and pay attention.
Be honest, up front, make your expectations clear, and students will respond well during difficult (and often unavoidable) times.<\/p>\n\n\n
