Nebraska Medicine Remote Antimicrobial Stewardship Support Program (NM-RASSP)

On September 30, 2019, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized a new set of Conditions of Participations for hospitals, including critical access hospitals.  These regulations are intended to ensure hospitals conform to current practice standards.  As part of the new Conditions of Participation, all hospitals are required to establish an antimicrobial stewardship program to monitor and improve antimicrobial use.

To assist hospitals with meeting the new Conditions of Participation, Nebraska Medicine Remote Pharmacy Services is now offering the Remote Antimicrobial Stewardship Support Program (NM-RASSP), a fee-based telehealth antimicrobial stewardship support program designed to help support antimicrobial stewardship implementation and improvement at critical access hospitals. This program is managed by infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship pharmacists in collaboration with board-certified infectious diseases physicians from the Nebraska Medicine Antimicrobial Stewardship Center of Excellence.

Each participating hospital can select from a list of services that can be selected individually or combined in ways that best fulfill the facility’s needs. These packages as well as their associated activities are listed below.
