Avyakta Kallam, MBBS

Dr. Kallam is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. She then went on to do an internal medicine residency at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Following this, she worked as a Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Creighton University Medical Center and the Omaha VA Medical Center. She then joined the UNMC in Omaha, Nebraska, and completed her fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology.

She has authored or co-authored numerous articles, book chapters and abstracts. She has also presented her research at several national and international meetings and was awarded the American Society of Hematology abstract achievement award in 2017. She has also served as an expert reviewer for a number of scientific journals. She is currently involved in clinical research related to lymphoid malignancies and phase I clinical trials.
