Liz Sutton MD

Liz Sutton

Lincoln, Nebraska

Where did you go for Undergraduate and Medical School?
I went to college at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and medical school at UNMC.

Career aspirations:
Treat Leonardo DiCaprio's skin cancer

What was your first job?
I was a scribe for four years in an eye clinic back in the days when EMR didn't exist.

What is the furthest you've travelled from Omaha?
The longest plane flight was on the way to Botswana in southern Africa, but the most remote location I have been to is Antarctica.  Both were on trips with my family.  Both were incredible places to visit.

If you couldn't work in medicine, what would you do?
I would be a tour guide at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania because I love the Civil War, and I love President Lincoln.  I went to Gettysburg in middle school and walking up Pickett's Charge is surreal.

Best thing to do in Nebraska if you only had one day?
I'd wake up early and race my dad around Holmes Lake in Lincoln (I always lose).  Then my dad and I would challenge my two older sisters in a golf scramble (once again, I tend to lose). I'd end the day with take out from The Oven and spend time with my family on our back patio.

Most fond residency experience or memory up to this point?
Working in the Green Team room with Jessie Jenkins and Katie Maliszewski.  I learned so much from working with both of them, and we had many good laughs along the way.
