Center grants are awards from federal funding agencies, such as the National Institutes of Health or Administration on Community Living, which are designed to promote research, education, service and demonstration projects on a local level. MMI has four center grants:
- Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant focusing on research.
- With a focus on training -- a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) grant for health care practitioners to work effectively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) to improve K-12 and public understanding of health sciences with an emphasis on Native American communities.
- University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UCEDD) grant project, which focuses on programs to assist individuals with disabilities so they may participate fully in their communities.
