Medically Handicapped Children's Program (MHCP)

Developmental pediatricians are part of a collaborative team that assesses the general health of the child, makes recommendations for care and appropriate referrals to other specialists if necessary.

The Nebraska Health and Human Services Medically Handicapped Children's Program contracts with the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) to provide interdisciplinary clinics for children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

The family-centered care team at MMI will continue to monitor and follow-up with individuals who need continued services with the purpose of helping each child to unlock their full potential.
