Raising a child with special needs can be overwhelming, demanding and isolating. Being a mother of a child with Autism, intellectual and developmental disability, and a rare disease, my world revolved around early intervention services, medical appointments, surgeries, ABA therapy, advocating and learning as much as I possibly could to help my daughter live to her best potential. For years I have advocated for an effective, family-centered, culturally appropriate, integrated systems of services and supports for my daughter and all people with disabilities. As a Parent Resource Coordinator, I am committed to empower families, offer support, and provide community resources. My goal is to help families feel better informed and see a path forward.
