Ansimone Youssef, MA, PLMH, is a predoctoral intern in the Department of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation. Prior to internship, Ansimone has provided clinical services in a variety of settings including substance use clinics where she was a registered AOD counselor, residential facilities through the Ronald McDonald House, and intensive outpatient clinics at UCLA. She has had many opportunities to work with families, couples, and individuals of all ages throughout her training career. Ansimone’s clinical training has focused on evidence-based practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Ansimone takes a person-centered, collaborative approach when working with individuals and has experience working within a systems-based perspective, especially in her work with couples and families. She works to emphasize the importance of the biopsychosocial model of conceptualization to support the needs of the whole person. Her research focuses on MENA communities and how caregivers chronic/terminal illness affects their child/adolescent’s physical, emotional and mental health and attachment style.
