Professional Summary

Chelsea Kozikowski Yancey, MA, PLMHP, is a predoctoral intern in the Behavioral Pediatrics and Integrated Care Program in the Munroe-Meyer Institute Department of Psychology at UNMC. She attended the APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL), with a Concentration in Children and Families, and specialized training in the Pediatric Health Lab.  Chelsea has found an integrated approach to pediatric health care to be especially rewarding, and she currently provides evidence-based assessment, conceptualization and targeted treatment interventions for pediatric patients and their families in the primary care setting. In addition, Chelsea serves as a member of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Other Related Disabilities (LEND) Program, on the Advanced Leadership Training Track with Autism Leadership Academy Enhancements.

Chelsea takes a developmentally informed, cognitive behavioral approach to her clinical work, and her theoretical approach is influenced by biopsychosocial and systems theories. Her extensive experience has spanned a variety of child and adolescent contexts, including primary care settings, children’s hospitals, specialty clinics, psychological consultation outpatient clinic, residential treatment facility, and child advocacy center for trauma-informed care. Chelsea has maintained a stream of research publications over the course of her clinical work, co-authoring 12 peer-reviewed publications in professional journals, with ongoing participation and presentation at professional conferences. She defended her dissertation in September 2021, wherein she examined links between multidimensional stress and health outcomes in a pediatric sample from predominantly low-income families.
