Professional Summary
Colleen Miller, MS, PLMH (pending) is a predoctoral intern in the Department of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation. She is a master’s level provider who expects to receive her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Prior to internship, Colleen has provided group and individual services in a variety of settings including residential nursing care for youth and adults with degenerative conditions as well as non-profit community outreach organizations treating a variety of mental health, substance use, and early childhood developmental disorders. She has provided care to individuals and families across the life-span, particularly with underserved and marginalized populations. Colleen’s clinical training has focused on culturally sensitive, evidence based practices including Early Behavioral Interventions for children and caretakers, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Therapy and Multimodal Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
Colleen takes an interpersonal, collaborative and integrative approach when working with individuals and their families. She is dedicated to providing cost-effective, accessible services through community coordination to maximize mental health and quality of life for individuals regardless of their circumstances. Inclusiveness and flexibility of treatment options is at the core of her clinical practice, as each unique individual is deserving of a person-centered journey. She follows the integrative care model, considering individuals’ physical, mental and emotional well-being holistically. Her research focuses primarily on treatment optimization through family involvement, particularly with children and parents within the Autism Spectrum and co-morbid developmental disabilities community.
