Adriano Barboza, PhD, BCBA-D, is a Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow in the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He received his Ph.D. and his master’s degree from the Federal University of Para, in Brazil. During both graduate courses, he also had experiences as a Researcher Scholar in the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation at Utah State University. His thesis and dissertation research topics involved Parent and Caregiver Training and the use of technology to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Applied Behavior Analysis training procedures to assist individuals with developmental disabilities. Dr. Barboza also has experience teaching courses and providing consultation for clinics and professionals working with individuals with disabilities while serving as an editorial board member for behavior-analytic journals.

Dr. Barboza is part of the Intensive Behavior Consultation Team, which supports students with developmental disabilities at schools in Omaha/NE who engage in moderate to severe challenging behaviors. He provides direct consultation services and assists in developing and implementing behavior management plans while providing supervision for upcoming behavior analysts. His clinical and research interests include using technology to enhance behavior-analytic procedures for individuals with developmental disabilities, the assessment and treatment of challenging behaviors in school settings, and the evaluation and enhancement of consultation models and decision-making protocols for professionals working in school and clinical settings.
