Professional Summary
J. Brooke Killion, MS, PLMHP, is a predoctoral intern in the Munroe-Meyer Institute Department of Psychology at UNMC. Brooke provides psychology services at the rural integrate care clinic at Children’s Physicians in Kearney, NE. She earned a master’s degree in Teacher Education with concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. She expects to earn her PhD in School Psychology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where she completed a BACB-approved, verified course sequence. As a graduate clinician in a psychoeducational outpatient clinic, Brooke spent several years providing comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations as well as direct intervention (academic, social, and behavioral) services. Additionally, she completed years within a school-based practicum where she conducted Functional Behavior Analyses (FBAs), designed and implemented academic and behavior plans while collaborating with relevant school personnel teams, and provided direct intervention services for students struggling with high emotional and/or behavioral difficulties.Brooke’s training has focused on evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Aside from practica experiences, Brooke has a strong passion and over 7 years of experience working with children and adult victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and trauma. During her time spent at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Brooke served with the East Tennessee Sexual Assault Center as well as an on-campus sexual assault student victim advocate where she provided individual and group therapy for victims. As someone who grew up in a rural area, Brooke works to not only serve this community but also help to encourage the importance of receiving services that meet a child’s physical and mental health needs.
