Janet Schwartz-Micheaux is a doctoral candidate in School Psychology at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville in Knoxville, TN. She is currently completing her pre-doctoral internship with the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology (NICPP) in the Department of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation. As an intern at MMI, Janet acts as a behavioral health provider in integrated pediatric primary care, providing telehealth mental and behavioral health services to children and their families during the fall 2020 semester. In spring 2021, Janet will transition to her second rotation in developmental pediatrics, specializing in behavioral health services for children with developmental disabilities. Throughout her internship year, Janet participates in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) fellowship. For her LEND community leadership project, Janet is acting as an ambassador delegate for the CDC’s Learn the Signs Act Early campaign, leading trainings for medical residents and home health specialists, as well as reviewing and integrating resources to increase caregiver accessibility to evidence-based practices to promote early childhood development. Janet also collaborates with the Smart Gen Society (SGS) to develop research surveys and group therapy models for social medial use and behavioral health.
