Professional Summary
Janet Schwartz-Micheaux, PhD, LMHP, PLP is a postdoctoral fellow in the school-based mental health program at the Munroe-Meyer Institute. She recently graduated from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville with her doctorate in school psychology and completed her predoctoral internship in behavioral pediatrics and integrated primary care at the Munroe-Meyer Institute as well. Across her responsibilities in providing school-based direct services, programming and professional development at a local high school, Janet works diligently to foster positive, collaborative partnerships with educators at the school in the service of supporting all students. Janet also provides training and teaching in the area of school-based mental health to practicum students in the ESU2 region through the Mental Health Professional Partnership. At MMI, Janet contributes to teams involved in trainee recruitment efforts, peer supervision, and diversity, equity and inclusion projects within the department and across the institute. Her current research and clinical interests include increasing accessibility of patient-centered mental health treatment for individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities, as well as completing internal program evaluation and quality improvement. When not at work, Janet enjoys paper crafting, taking walks around various Omaha neighborhoods and trying her hand at new casserole recipes.
