Tara Sjuts, PhD is a licensed psychologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation. She received her PhD in School Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed her internship and post-doctoral training at the Munroe-Meyer Institute. Dr. Sjuts conducts her clinic in the Omaha Metro area at a pediatric practice located in LaVista, NE. Dr. Sjuts’ research interests include improving the integration of behavioral health in primary care, social media and behavioral health, and suicide screening in primary care. Dr. Sjuts collaborates with the Smart Girl Society (SGS) on research and dissemination projects. The work with SGS aims to improve social media safety for children and adolescents and to increase parental awareness and involvement in their children's digital worlds. Dr. Sjuts also coordinates the Behavioral Pediatrics in Integrated Care internship program. She supervises post-doctoral fellows, APA Interns, PhD students, and Masters level students in clinical settings.
