Whitney Dartnell, MA, PLMHP, is a predoctoral intern in the Department of Psychology at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation. Whitney is a master’s level provider who expects to earn her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a major of study in Clinical Child Psychology from Montclair State University. Prior to internship, Whitney provided clinical services to individuals across the lifespan in the realm of behavioral health and neuropsychology. Whitney has experience in conducting a range of assessments with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and ID, as well as other emotional and behavioral concerns. Additionally, she has training and experience delivering evidence based interventions within the Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral frameworks, as well as Parent Training modalities. In her clinical practice, Whitney aims to provide culturally responsive integrated care that focuses on the holistic treatment of children and adolescents who present with comorbid physical and psychological illnesses and disabilities, and their families. Her research interests include investigating aspects of parent’s/caregiver’s interactions with children that contribute to their cognitive, emotional and sociocultural development.
