Professional Summary
Marne Iwand is a Physical Therapist and a RESNA Certified Assistive Technology Professional in the department of physical therapy at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute. Marne has been with MMI since 2002. She worked with pediatric clients of varying diagnoses and ages at Children’s Hospital before coming to MMI. Marne provides lifespan services to children and adults with neuromuscular disease and intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in both medical and educational settings. She specializes in assistive technology:

- environmental modifications to maximize independence
- seating
She serves the muscular dystrophy clinic, participates in the mobility and assistive technology clinic, performs home safety assessments, and provides pool therapy. Passionate about fitness and participation for all, Marne champions for and volunteers with several community based efforts that focus on I/DD including: Fun Fitness - Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Program, Mobility Equipment Restoration, and ‘Gotta Be Me’. She is a volunteer counselor and staff trainer at Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) summer camp and teaches yoga classes at Ollie Webb.
