About Us
The Medical Sciences Interdepartmental Area (MSIA) was developed to host graduate students from departments within UNMC who require a multidisciplinary/non-traditional focus that may not be provided by other graduate or professional degree programs and is intended for those who wish to pursue individually designed programs of an interdisciplinary nature within the medical sciences. The MSIA program is composed of seven sub-plans including four that are program based: Biological Defense & Health Security (BDHS), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Oral Biology (OB), and Clinical Translational Research Mentored Scholars Program (CTR MSP); three newly developed Translational Research sub-plans: Clinically Relevant Basic Research (CRBR), Patient-Oriented Research (POR), Health Practice and Medical Education Research (HPMER).
