Dr. Rig Das, is an Instructor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Nebraska MedicalCenter. Dr. Das received his PhD degree in Applied Electronics Engineering with European Doctorate Label from Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy, in April 2018. He has completed his Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering, in 2007 and 2012 respectively, from India. After completion of his PhD degree, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg (2018-19) and Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark (2019-21). He was also a visiting researcher at Bar-Ilan University, Israel, in 2016. He is a member of IEEE and served as a reviewer for various IEEE Transactions and Conferences.
Dr. Das joined the Neurosurgery Department in December 2021 as an Instructor where he will be working on Adaptive Neurostimulation to Restore Sleep in Parkinson’s Disease project and provide guidance and mentorship to residents in aspects of research, which includes protocol development, IRB submission, patient screening and enrolment. Dr. Das' current research interests are EEG Signal Processing, Sleep Study, BCI and Deep Learning. His other research interests are image and video processing, steganography, signal processing, pattern recognition and machine learning.
