Kevin Garvin, M.D., to serve as president for The Hip Society in 2017
Kevin Garvin, M.D., chair of the UNMC Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, will serve as president of The Hip Society from 2017-2018. Currently, second vice president for the society, Dr. Garvin will join a long list of Hip Society leaders who have made tremendous contributions to the field of orthopedics. His appointment coincides with the society’s 50th anniversary. He will preside over the annual members meeting in October 2017 in Omaha — the group’s first meeting in Omaha.
Fourth annual Wellness Fair set for Jan. 28
The College of Public Health will be holding its fourth annual Wellness Fair on Jan. 28 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Durham Outpatient Center Atrium. The Wellness Fair is open to the campus, including faculty, staff and students. Health and wellness information will include blood pressure screening, hearing health, farm safety, Center for Healthy Living, Faculty Employee Assistance Program, LiveGreen, nutrition, Olson Center for Women’s Health, dentistry, TIAA-CREF and more.
