In fact, it&#8217;s the 12th consecutive year the hospital has earned the designation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year, U.S. News &amp; World Report evaluates more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide to develop its annual list of Best Hospitals. They look at things like clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience in developing these rankings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the Nebraska Medical Center honor, the ear, nose and throat program achieved a national ranking. Three other specialties were listed as high performing. Those are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cancer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gastroenterology and GI surgery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orthopaedics&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Twelve procedures and conditions were rated as high performing \u2014 the highest ranking possible:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aortic valve surgery&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colon cancer surgery&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diabetes&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heart attack&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heart failure&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kidney failure&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knee&nbsp;replacement&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leukemia,&nbsp;lymphoma&nbsp;and&nbsp;myeloma&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ovarian cancer surgery&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pneumonia&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prostate cancer surgery&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uterine&nbsp;cancer&nbsp;surgery&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAchieving \u2018Best Hospital\u2019 status doesn\u2019t happen by accident,\u201d said Nebraska Medicine CEO&nbsp;Jim Linder, MD. \u201cIt\u2019s the result of all the hard work of all the incredibly talented people who work here.
