She recently was named UNMC\u2019s 2023 Scientist Laureate by the UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Windy Alsonso, PhD, <\/strong>assistant professor of nursing at the College of Nursing \u2013 Omaha. She is a New Investigator Awardee for having&nbsp;secured her first funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense or other national sources within the past two years; and<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Mollard083123.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-102459\" style=\"width:220px;height:293px\" width=\"220\" height=\"293\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Elizabeth Mollard, PhD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Mollard, PhD, <\/strong>assistant professor of nursing at the College of Nursing \u2013 Lincoln Division, who is also a New Investigator Awardee.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The nursing reception will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Center of Nursing Science Atrium, third floor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campus is invited to attend and should RSVP&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ltworek@unmc.edu\">LaDonna Tworek<\/a>&nbsp;by Sept. 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drs. Balas, Alonso and Mollard will be honored, along with UNMC\u2019s other 2023 research honorees, during a campus awards ceremony on Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Durham Research Center
