The Child Health Research Institute will host its second annual scientific conference on Nov. 3 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Scott Conference Center from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference is CHRI\u2019s flagship event and features outstanding research produced by its membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomi Pastinen, MD, PhD, Dee Lyons\/Missouri Endowed Chair in Pediatric Genomic Medicine and director of the Genomic Medicine Center at Children\u2019s Mercy Kansas City, will deliver the keynote presentation, \u201cGenomics for childhood rare disease: Assessing all molecular lesions in a single test.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early registration at a reduced price is available until Sept. 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registered researchers are invited to submit abstracts for the opportunity to present at the conference. The deadline to submit abstracts is Sept. 21 at midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top three submissions overall will be asked to present during the morning plenary session at the CHRI Conference. The top four submissions in each of CHRI\u2019s areas of emphasis will be asked to present during breakout sessions on those areas of emphasis. The subsequent four high-scoring submissions will be invited to bring a poster and participate in a rapid-fire, five-minute presentation at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notifications to presenters will be made by Oct. 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are so excited to see all of the great science that will be submitted for consideration for the conference,\u201d said Ann Anderson Berry, MD, PhD, CHRI executive director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
