{"id":104762,"date":"2023-11-02T01:54:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-02T06:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=104762"},"modified":"2023-11-01T10:44:03","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T15:44:03","slug":"2023-employee-giving-campaign-begins-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2023\/11\/02\/2023-employee-giving-campaign-begins-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"2023 employee giving campaign begins Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>The 2023 UNMC Employee Giving campaign will begin Monday, Nov. 6, and run through Dec. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees will have the opportunity to support their community through two different pathways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The United Way of the Midlands, which supports a variety of human-service program providers across the Omaha\/Council Bluffs area. United Way-supported programs create life-changing opportunities by meeting the basic needs of the area&#8217;s most vulnerable populations, supporting children during their academic years and helping to prepare young people for productive careers. Click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unitedwaymidlands.org\/community-investments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> to view a list of supported programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give Nebraska, which connects donors to the causes they care about most. With more than 70 non-profit agencies to choose from, donors can determine where their money goes. A list of supported agencies can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.givenebraska.org\/member-agencies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why give?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0e53cxbhz7s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hear from UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and Nebraska Medicine CEO Jim Linder, MD, on why this year\u2019s campaign is important.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign begins Nov. 6 and runs through Dec. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to give:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>United Way of the Midlands: On Monday, Nov. 6, employees will receive an email from United Way of the Midlands (<a href=\"mailto:epledge@uwmidlands.org\">epledge@uwmidlands.org<\/a>) that walks them through the donation process. Individuals already familiar with the process can use the link provided in that day\u2019s UNMC Today story.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give Nebraska: Employees can click on the link provided in the UNMC Today story on Monday, Nov. 6.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Incentives for 2023:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNMC has a 50% employee participation goal this year. To help meet our campus goal, incentives are being offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Those who pledge at least $15 total will be eligible to win a prize each week of the campaign. Donations made by Fridays at 3 p.m. qualify for that week&#8217;s drawing, as well as subsequent drawings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The earlier the donation, the better the chance at winning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drawing winners will be notified via email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For questions regarding this year&#8217;s campaign, contact\u00a0<a
