Enrollment began Oct. 30 and will run through 5 p.m. Central Standard Time today (Friday, Nov. 17).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Items that need completed annually during this three-week period are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Updating your tobacco\/nicotine designation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrolling in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completing the Health Risk Assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reviewing your life insurance beneficiaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify your permanent address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees also have the ability to review their current benefit elections and make changes for 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department of human resources had been made aware that the IRS will increase its health care flexible spending limit for 2024 from $3,050 to $3,200. Currently, the electronic system will not allow UNMC employees to elect more than $3,050 for their health flexible spending account. The University of Nebraska system is working to adjust the limit; when these changes are in place, employees who have selected the $3,050 limit will be contacted and given the opportunity to increase that limit. In addition, the IRS also has increased the carryover amount to $640 in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since changes are not allowed throughout the year, with the exception of a few Internal Revenue Service-approved life events, it is imperative that all employees log into <a href=\"https:\/\/fed.nebraska.edu\/idp\/profile\/SAML2\/Redirect\/SSO;jsessionid=1wej1xp9x3mst18ofba83zzhx1?execution=e1s1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Firefly<\/a>, go into Employee Self Service (ESS), review and\/or make desired changes and additions to their current benefits and then very carefully review their emailed confirmation statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UNMC Benefits Office suggests everyone either print or save a copy for their records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below are resources for employees having trouble logging into Firefly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/info.unmc.edu\/management\/finance\/UNMC-how_to_change_your_firefly_password.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Step-by-step guide<\/a>&nbsp;to change your password<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Firefly help desk phone number 402-559-BUZZ (2899)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Firefly help desk\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:unmcfirefly@unmc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">email<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With questions or concerns pertaining to benefits enrollment, contact the benefits office to schedule a one-on-one meeting.
