UNMC and Creighton University have been announced as co-hosts of the 2025 Collaborating Across Borders Conference<\/a>, which will be held in Omaha in May 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biennial conference, held by the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative, is the oldest and largest interprofessional education conference in North America and alternates sites between the United States and Canada. The 2025 event will be the first time the conference has been held in person since 2019, and it\u2019s first time in the U.S. since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur institutions are excited to work together to showcase interprofessional practice and education advances across North America,\u201d said Devin Nickol, MD, associate dean for interprofessional education at UNMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUNMC and Creighton have made significant investments in interprofessional learning in recent years and look forward to introducing the interprofessional community to our work and the city of Omaha during the CAB conference\u201d said Jennifer Jessen, EdD, executive director of the Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research at Creighton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dele Davies, MD, UNMC\u2019s senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, invited faculty, staff and students to mark the dates and \u201ctake full advantage of having this world class conference right here in Omaha.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInterprofessional education, research and clinical care are important areas of strategic focus and growth at UNMC,\u201d Dr. Davies said. \u201cHaving the Collaboration Across Borders meeting hosted in Omaha is an affirmation of UNMC and Creighton\u2019s national IPE leadership roles, and we appreciate the strong partnership that made Omaha a natural choice for the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am confident that visitors from the U.S. and Canada will be delighted not only by the content of the conference but by the warmth and hospitality of our community and the many fun places to visit and things for them and their families to do while here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine Arenson, MD, director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, said she was pleased that UNMC and Creighton University would co-host CAB in Omaha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese two institutions have been longstanding leaders in interprofessional practice and education in the U.S. and globally,\u201d she said. \u201cDr. Nickol serves as co-editor in chief of the Journal of Interprofessional Education and Practice and as co-convener of the American Interprofessional Health\u00a0Collaborative. Dr. Jessen leads interprofessional education at Creighton University. Their expertise, experience and international reputation will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the 2025 CAB conference.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
