{"id":105356,"date":"2023-11-17T01:54:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T07:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=105356"},"modified":"2023-11-16T13:02:20","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T19:02:20","slug":"employee-giving-drive-highlights-give-nebraska-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2023\/11\/17\/employee-giving-drive-highlights-give-nebraska-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee giving drive highlights Give Nebraska"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>The UNMC Employee Giving Committee will draw prize winners today (Nov. 17) at 3 p.m. for the second week of the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week&#8217;s prizes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two $25 Visa gift cards;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One $50 Visa gift card; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC\/United Way Swag<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>UNMC employees who pledge\u00a0a minimum of $15 total\u00a0will be eligible for the prizes listed above.\u00a0Information on how to donate is listed below. After employees pledge, they are entered in all weekly drawings. Winners will be notified via email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The running totals:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of Thursday, UNMC achieved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Donations of $55,776<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employee participation of 7%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To participate:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See these instructions for more details on donating. For additional security purposes, a few changes have been made since last year\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>United Way of the Midlands:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/go.unmc.edu\/uwmidlands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a>. The link will lead to a single UNMC sign-in page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees can sign in with their UNMC username and password.&nbsp;These should auto populate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once signed in, the employee will be directed to a personalized giving page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Donate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A \u201cno pledge\u201d option is available for employees who choose not to donate. Employees who are unable to contribute still are encouraged to access the ePledge website and submit a \u201cno donation\u201d response.&nbsp;<strong>A \u201cno donation\u201d response counts toward total employee participation.<\/strong>&nbsp;After an employee has submitted a donation or no donation response, United Way will no longer send additional giving emails this month.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Give Nebraska:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.givenebraska.org\/unmc-donate-page.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a>. The link will lead to UNMC\u2019s Give Nebraska donation page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register and donate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees can give by credit card on the online giving site, as well as through payroll deduction, cash or check. Campaign pledges, which can be made through UNMC\u2019s payroll deduction, are automatically withdrawn from the last check in December 2023 for biweekly paid employees and January 2024 for employees paid monthly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This week&#8217;s highlighted organization: Give Nebraska (formerly Community Services Fund of Nebraska)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is Give Nebraska and how are they different from other giving agencies?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Give Nebraska, formerly Community Services Fund of Nebraska, is a federation of nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in Nebraska and exists to connect donors to the causes they care about most.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/GiveNebraskaTshirt-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-105361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/GiveNebraskaTshirt-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/GiveNebraskaTshirt-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/GiveNebraskaTshirt-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/GiveNebraskaTshirt-900x600.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/GiveNebraskaTshirt.jpg 1461w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cGive Nebraska strongly believe in empowering donors to make independent decisions about their philanthropy,\u201d said Melissa Filipi, Give Nebraska executive director. \u201cDonors have the option \u2014 no matter the size of their gift \u2014 to designate their donation dollars to more than 70 different statewide agencies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A list of Give Nebraska supported agencies can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.givenebraska.org\/member-agencies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, those who donate $120 or more will be eligible&nbsp;for a free Give Nebraska T-shirt (while supplies last).
