The UNMC and Nebraska Medicine Emerging Professionals Program will wrap up the calendar year with two events.<\/p>\n\n\n

Since the launch of the Emerging Professionals Program in 2017, the group has hosted numerous professional development events, given back more than 680 hours to the community and has grown to 650 members. For more information on events and how to get involved, check the EPP website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Nov. 29, noon-1 p.m., membership forum via Zoom<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted on a quarterly basis, the membership forums provide an opportunity for members and non-members to catch up on what the program has been doing and learn about upcoming events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This quarter, there also will be a presentation on financial wellness and managing stress during the holiday season, presented by Steven Wengel, MD, and Sarah Fischer, PhD, of the UNMC Wellness Office. Dr. Wengel is UNMC\u2019s assistant vice chancellor for campus wellness and a professor in the UNMC Department of Psychiatry, and Dr. Fischer is an assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Psychiatry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dec. 7, 5:30 p.m., holiday social at Blatt Beer & Table downtown<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

EPP and the Methodist Emerging Professionals are co-hosting a holiday social and toy drive for the Child Saving Institute\u2019s Substitute Santa program. This event offers an opportunity to network with other health care professionals while giving back to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Child Saving Institute will provide brief remarks about the organization, the Substitute Santa program and volunteer opportunities available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
