<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle Johnson, MD, will oversee operations for perioperative services, one of the main service lines, at Bellevue Medical Center. The supervisory role will encompass surgeons, proceduralists, anesthesiologists and advanced practice providers credentialed at Bellevue Medical Center. In the new role, Dr. Johnson will report directly to the Bellevue Medical Center executive committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellevue Medical Center has changed significantly over the past two years, and part of his new role is to help set a course for future growth and reimagine how Bellevue Medical Center fits into Nebraska Medicine\u2019s planning, Dr. Johnson said. \u201cIt is especially important to have an anesthesiologist in this role serving as a consistent presence in daily operations at this time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs anesthesiologists, we are in a unique position to truly understand the challenges of perioperative care across multiple procedural areas and many surgical specialties,\u201d Dr. Johnson said. \u201cOur anesthesiologists and CRNAs set the culture at Bellevue Medical Center, and we see ourselves collectively as the key players both in daily operations and in guiding which direction we should be headed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Johnson has been at Bellevue Medical Center for eight years, which has allowed him to develop a good working relationship with its surgeons. In addition to serving as a liaison between perioperative service providers and hospital leadership, Dr. Johnson also plans to re-evaluate the block schedule, the efficiency of perioperative services and address any concerns with the culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly Vaughn, vice president of operations, said she has worked with Dr. Johnson for many years and his leadership, problem-solving mentality and ability to work collaboratively with everyone he encounters will continue to be an asset at Bellevue Medical Center and across our health system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDr. Johnson is well respected by his peers and surgeon colleagues and I as many others look forward to working more closely with him in this leadership role,\u201d Vaughn said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Ingemansen, MD, has served in this position for the past six years and said he is confident Dr. Johnson\u2019s \u201calways calming\u201d demeanor will help him navigate this new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHis prior leadership experience in our department makes a natural fit to balance both the physician and institutional needs to continue to make Bellevue such a successful and busy part of Nebraska Medicine,\u201d Dr. Ingemansen said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ellen Roberts, MD, vice chair of clinical operations at the UNMC Department of Anesthesiology, congratulated Dr. Johnson on his new appointment and said his experience as chair of the department\u2019s clinical practice committee will be invaluable when collaborating with the hospital on business, operational and strategic initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am thrilled Dr. Johnson has been elected as the next procedural services chief at Bellevue Medical Center,\u201d Dr. Roberts said. \u201cWith his history of clinical excellence and ability to work well with colleagues, I am confident he will make an excellent service chief.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Roberts also thanked Dr. Ingemansen for his several years of hard work in this position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
