The UNMC College of Allied Health Professions has released its annual report — a special “anniversary edition” that covers two fiscal years and the college’s 50th anniversary year of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the features in the 25-page report are a look at a series of new faculty and staff members, a ribbon cutting for a renovated health and wellness clinical research lab and highlights from the 50-year anniversary. <\/p>\n\n\n

In his message, Dean Kyle Meyer, PhD, recalled the day of Oct. 6, 1972, when the University of Nebraska Board of Regents met in special session. At the recommendation of then UNMC Chancellor Robert Sparks, the board unanimously voted to establish a new School of Allied Health Professions in the UNMC College of Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The growth of today’s College of Allied Health Professions, Dr. Meyer wrote, reflects the importance and continued evolution of a host of professions called \u201callied health\u201d that have become vital to health and health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We celebrated our 50th anniversary milestone in various ways throughout 2022, and the sentiment of ‘Together in Health’ could not be more appropriate,” Dr. Meyer wrote. “Together, with the talented and dedicated faculty, staff, and alumni who have come before us, we have made history! No one can tell what the next 50 years will bring. But if the past is any predictor of the future, I have no doubt we are on a trajectory of continued success that will only add to what is already our illustrious history.”<\/p>\n<\/a><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
