The UNMC College of Medicine faculty are invited to the upcoming Enhanced Medical Education Track Capstone presentations, which will be held March 14 from 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Davis Global Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced Medical Education Tracks (EMETs) offer medical students an opportunity to perform an in-depth study of an interdisciplinary field of medicine that enhances the required curriculum without extending the time needed to graduate from medical school. Tracks consist of longitudinal activities in which students work closely with faculty mentors, residents and advanced students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNMC College of Medicine Dean Bradley Britigan, MD, congratulated students on completing the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese students are presenting the culmination of four years\u2019 worth of work, in areas that include research and medical humanities,\u201d he said. \u201cThese projects should be informative and interesting. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing the results of their efforts, and I encourage college faculty to join me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EMET director Kari Nelson, PhD, expressed pride in the work of the EMET cohort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe EMET students have gone above and beyond the already challenging requirements of medical school, and they are excited to share the results of their work,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
