From the Office of the President: \u2018I Love NU\u2019 Week begins March 4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students, faculty, staff and friends and supporters of the University of Nebraska System are invited to participate in the seventh annual \u201cI Love NU\u201d Day<\/a> on Wednesday, March 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln.<\/p>\n\n\n

The event is an opportunity for individuals to show support for the university and visit with state senators about the work and impact of the NU System\u2019s four campuses. All members of the public are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day will begin with remarks from Interim University of Nebraska President Chris Kabourek and NU\u2019s four student regents. Attendees will gather in the legislative chamber balcony to be recognized and then will have time to speak with senators in the Rotunda and engage with other university supporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the 2024 celebration, participants can enjoy a special ice cream flavor created by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln\u2019s Dairy Store. The ice cream will be available at the Capitol on the day of the event as part of an ice cream social for attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty and staff who attend the event during regular work hours should use vacation or banked\/floating holiday time and must receive approval for time off from a supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with the in-person event on March 6, supporters are encouraged to participate in virtual celebration days on social media during the week of March 4-8. A complete schedule of events is available on the \u201cI Love NU\u201d Week webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
