During Black History Month, UNMC acknowledges the outstanding accomplishments of our Black faculty and staff members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s feature is\u00a0Alberto Marcelin, MD, assistant dean for admissions, UNMC College of Medicine; medical director, Nebraska Medicine Ambulatory Quality Care; medical director, Nebraska Medicine Chalco Clinic. Dr. Marcelin has been with UNMC for six years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the most notable achievements in your professional journey?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been blessed with the opportunity to contribute to both the academic and administrative health care worlds. I have cherished the opportunity to mentor young physicians and develop meaningful relationships with colleagues and patients over the years while contributing to meaningful changes to the way care is delivered in the organization. These have been more notable to me than the specific titles I have accumulated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice do you have for aspiring Black health care professionals entering your field?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
