{"id":108531,"date":"2024-03-01T01:56:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-01T07:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=108531"},"modified":"2024-02-29T15:54:07","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T21:54:07","slug":"unmcs-employee-appreciation-day-is-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/03\/01\/unmcs-employee-appreciation-day-is-today\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC&#8217;s Employee Appreciation Day is today"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>UNMC Human Resources is hosting an Employee Appreciation Day for the campus today (March 1) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by the UNMC Chancellor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event coincides with National Employee Appreciation Day, which was created in 1995 to recognize and show appreciation for all the important contributions employees make to organizations across the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want to mark the day by recognizing all our UNMC faculty and staff and everything they do to make UNMC a great workplace,\u201d said Sarah Gloden Carlson, assistant vice chancellor and director for human resources, \u201cWe\u2019ve got great activities planned, so all employees are encouraged to join in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Click play to see a message from UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. The UNMC Employee Appreciation Day also is striving to be a zero-waste event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wellness at Durham Research Center&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Durham Research Center will host a wellness-themed appreciation that includes yoga, financial representatives, chair massages and meditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Star Search Talent Show at Eppley Science Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eppley Science Hall will put on a talent show where the UNMC community can show off their talents. This event will be live-streamed to the other event locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Game Time at the Center for Healthy Living<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center for Healthy Living will offer game time activities, such as cornhole, ladder ball, ping pong, and minute-to-win-it competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To attend the Zoom feed for the events, see the Zoom link in the <a
