Gold, MD, priority candidate for NU president"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>The University of Nebraska Board of Regents on Wednesday appointed Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, as the priority candidate to serve as the ninth president of the University of Nebraska.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Gold has held several roles at the University of Nebraska System since 2014, including chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and executive vice president and provost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before joining UNMC, Dr. Gold was chancellor of the University of Toledo\u2019s academic and clinical health sciences. He previously served at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical System and the Weill Cornell College of Medicine-New York Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Gold is a graduate of the Cornell University College of Engineering and the Weill Cornell College of Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Gold immediately begins a 30-day public review period that will include forums across the state where Nebraskans can meet him, ask questions and provide feedback. Details on the public events will be announced soon.
