Gold, MD, will give his annual address to the faculty during the meeting. His address is titled, \u201cFrom Excellent to Exceptional: A Decade-Long Journey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Gold became UNMC\u2019s eighth chancellor on Feb. 1, 2014, as well as chair of the board of UNMC\u2019s principal clinical care academic health system partner, Nebraska Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recipients of this year\u2019s faculty awards for meritorious teaching and mentoring also will be honored during the meeting, along with faculty honored with awards for years of service.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Honorees for the UNMC Faculty Awards are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Graduate Students Award:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=109982\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ann Anderson Berry, MD, PhD, professor, Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics, UNMC College of Medicine<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Graduate Students Award:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=109975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Siddappa Byrareddy, PhD, professor, Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience, UNMC College of Medicine<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Graduate Students Award:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=109976\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Don Ronning, PhD, professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UNMC College of Pharmacy<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Junior Faculty Award:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=109977\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rebecca Oberley-Deegan, PhD, professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, UNMC College of Medicine<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outstanding Teacher Award:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=109978\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jianghu (James) Dong, PhD, assistant professor, Department of Biostatistics and Division of Nephrology, UNMC College of Public Health<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outstanding Teacher Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=109979\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lisa Ulrich Walters, clinical assistant professor, UNMC College of Nursing-Northern Division<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outstanding Teacher Award:<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=109981\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amanda Ribeiro Wobido, DDS, assistant professor, UNMC College of Dentistry<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A Zoom link for the meeting is available to UNMC on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/info.unmc.edu\/blog\/facultysenate\/annual-faculty-meeting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNMC Faculty Senate annual meeting webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reception hosted by Dr. Gold will follow in the Durham Research Center Atrium.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P.
