The UNMC Department of Neurological Sciences and UNMC Center for Continuing Education will offer a course May 1 on comprehensive Parkinson\u2019s disease care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course will discuss a multidisciplinary approach to the management of Parkinson\u2019s disease. It is designed to enhance the training of Parkinson’s disease care providers and will discuss diagnosis and initial management, management of advancing Parkinson\u2019s, the future of treatment, cognitive changes, autonomic dysfunction, weight loss and exercise with Parkinson\u2019s, the role of speech therapy and deep brain stimulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation has been prepared and curated by Movement Disorders Fellowship-trained neurologists at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha Thompson Alumni Center from 8:15 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. A full course agenda is available online here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A livestream option is available, and instructions will be sent to registered participants via email a few days before the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This accredited continuing education activity is designed for physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech pathologists and other health care providers who care for patients with PD. Continuing education credit is available; see details online here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
