{"id":111224,"date":"2024-05-08T16:15:36","date_gmt":"2024-05-08T21:15:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=111224"},"modified":"2024-05-08T16:16:04","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T21:16:04","slug":"search-committee-to-find-next-ob-gyn-chair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/05\/08\/search-committee-to-find-next-ob-gyn-chair\/","title":{"rendered":"Search committee to find next OB\/GYN chair"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Bradley Britigan, MD, dean of the UNMC College of Medicine and the Stokes-Shackleford Professor, has announced the search committee for the next chair of the UNMC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kari Simonsen, MD, chair of the UNMC Department of Pediatrics, will chair the search committee,&nbsp;which includes representation from Nebraska Medicine and the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee is charged with finding a successor for Carl Smith, MD, who will step down from the role once a successor is identified and on campus. Dr. Smith has served as ob\/gyn chair since 2002; he will continue to work clinically after moving away from the leadership role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UNMC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology chair search committee includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Committee chair Kari Simonsen, MD, chair, UNMC Department of Pediatrics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kerry Rodabaugh, MD, McClure L.
