Structural renovation work will begin Monday, May 20, on Lot 2, also known as UNMC Green Parking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visitor and patient parking structure, located at 4420 Emile St. and connected to Durham Outpatient Center, will undergo a five-phase construction project, with completion anticipated by later this year. The Lot 2 west entrance and exit along South 45th<\/sup> Street will be closed during the first phase of work.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was important to continue to have patient and visitor parking available in Lot 2, therefore 75% of the parking spaces will remain available during each phase of the renovation. Doors from the parking structure into Durham Outpatient Center (DOC) will remain accessible, and valet service in front of Durham Outpatient Center will remain available.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

If Lot 2 is full, then patient and visitor overflow parking will be available on level B of Lot 50, which is immediately to the south of Lot 2.  Additional ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) stalls will be located there, as well as valet parking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to overflow parking in Lot 50, some employees who park in that lot may have to park in Lot 17, if no other parking is available in the lot. Click here for the parking services website<\/a>, where the employee parking map is available to view.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe will also authorize employees to park in additional employee lots if both Lot 50 and 17 are at capacity,\u201d said Tim Faisetty, manager, UNMC Parking\/Transportation Services. \u201cWe know that this will pose challenges to some, and we encourage them to call or email us so we can help them find solutions that work. We thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding during this construction.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout this renovation work, attendants will be stationed at all entrances of the lot to guide people, and signage will be in and around the parking structure to help drivers navigate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
