The 2024 Eppley Institute Henry M. Lemon Short Course in Cancer Biology: Cancer Glycoimmunology will be held June 27-28 in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center\u2019s Yanney Conference Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s director is Prakash Radhakrishnan, PhD, an associate professor in the UNMC Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases. Dr. Radhakrishnan has selected speakers who are among the foremost experts in the field of glycoimmunology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, with a welcome from Joann Sweasy, PhD, director of the Eppley Institute and the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, followed by opening remarks from Dr. Radhakrishnan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hans Wandall, MD, PhD, of the University of Copenhagen, will present the opening talk, titled \u201cOverview and Recent Advancement in Glycans-specific Targeted Immunotherapy in Cancer\u201d at 8:25 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The afternoon session begins at 1:30 p.m. with Richard Cummings, PhD, of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard. He will present \u201cAltered Protein Glycosylation in Cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, June 28, at 8 a.m., Yvette van Kooyk, PhD, of Amsterdam UMC Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, will present a talk titled \u201cRecent Advances of Glycoimmunology in the Cancer Immunity Cycle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final session will begin at 1 p.m. with Susan Bellis, PhD, giving her seminar titled \u201cRegulation of Tumor Immunity by Sialylated Glycans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each talk will be followed by a panel discussion with all four speakers, moderated by Dr. Radhakrishnan, and allowing audience engagement. All speakers will be in person this year except for Dr. Wandall, who will present via Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees are welcome to attend Dr. Wandall\u2019s presentations in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center\u2019s Yanney Conference Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
