A retirement reception will be held Tuesday, June 25, for Laurey Steinke, PhD, an associate professor in the UNMC Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with more than three decades of service to UNMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reception will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Durham Research Center commons area. Remarks are scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Steinke joined UNMC in 1991 as a research technologist before becoming a researcher in the Protein Structure Core Facility in 1993. She served as director of the core facility from July 2009 to March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her research career focused on structural analysis of proteins and the protein components and metabolic interactions in microbial communities, according to her faculty biography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in more recent years, she became involved in curricular design and improvement. Since 2017, she served as co-director of problem-based learning in the UNMC College of Medicine.<\/p>\n RSZcEDKhBTVwxwmyYYoRFnHVp<\/a><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
