{"id":112847,"date":"2024-06-27T01:58:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-27T06:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=112847"},"modified":"2024-06-26T14:51:29","modified_gmt":"2024-06-26T19:51:29","slug":"new-it-intake-process-to-simplify-approvals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/06\/27\/new-it-intake-process-to-simplify-approvals\/","title":{"rendered":"New IT intake process to simplify approvals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>The UNMC\/Nebraska Medicine Information Technology and UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research are launching new IT Intake forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These forms are required for clinical trials involving study devices such as tablets or diagnostic tools and for basic research to review new equipment before adding them to UNMC\u2019s environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forms are designed to streamline and enhance technology support processes for basic research, clinical trials and web and mobile development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ken Bayles,&nbsp;PhD, UNMC vice chancellor for research, said, \u201cContinuous improvement and strong collaborative efforts were much appreciated to help improve the research experience.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott Raymond,&nbsp;vice president-chief information and innovation officer, said, \u201cThe collaborative work and attention to detail to streamline workflow was amazing to watch. These efforts will help set us up for success as we continue to implement new technologies to streamline workflow in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key features of the IT intake forms are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Comprehensive information gathering: The form is designed to collect all necessary details upfront, ensuring the IT team has all the information needed to assist researchers promptly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Automatic categorization:&nbsp;Each request will be automatically categorized and inform the research facilitator of a request if an IT assessment is needed or not.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instant confirmation:&nbsp;Users will receive instant confirmation upon submitting a request. The request also will be sent directly to a research facilitator to review.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved communication:&nbsp;The Research facilitator and the IT team will keep users updated about the progress of your request throughout the resolution process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Access the IT Intake forms&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nebraskamed.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_a96bZlzDi8ZpWho\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">at this link<\/a>.&nbsp; For future reference, the IT projects intake process can be found on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/info.unmc.edu\/it\/services\/it-project-intake-process\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">information technology site<\/a>&nbsp;on the UNMC intranet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new IT Intake forms are meant to significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of technology support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback is valuable, and the
