DigitalCommons@UNMC reaches milestone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The McGoogan Health Science Library’s DigitalCommons@UNMC<\/a> recently reached a significant milestone \u2014 1 million downloads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DigitalCommons@UNMC, an institutional repository, is a service of the McGoogan Library<\/a> in support of UNMC\u2019s strategic vision to \u201cincrease the research scope and prominence of UNMC as a top tier academic health sciences center\u201d by providing online access to faculty, staff and student scholarship. Open access principles are central to the design of this repository, which breaks down financial barriers to education and also increases the impact of the work contained within it by showcasing it to the global community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Content types can vary widely by discipline, but the goal of storing all content is the same: To provide a common opportunity for presenting internally and globally what is being accomplished by UNMC and its clinical partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kudos to Jackie Pavlik<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackie Pavlik, a research operations administrator in the UNMC Department of Surgery, was honored at the June 20 University of Nebraska Board of Regents meeting as UNMC’s Gold U Award winner for June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a UNMC Today article, Pavlik said her success is the result of the people around her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have such a great team right now \u2013 they make me look good, and I have complete trust in them,\u201d Pavlik said. \u201cI\u2019ve also had some great mentors along the way, but my current supervisor Tracy Rheault has been instrumental in my growth, and I\u2019m very appreciative of that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
