Garden Walk draws its largest turnout<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hundreds of spectators strolled through lush gardens featuring bright flowers, water features and other d\u00e9cor during the Munroe-Meyer Guild\u2019s 55th <\/sup>Annual Garden Walk. The walk, on June 9, drew nearly 1,200 guests through seven southwest and west Omaha gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe Garden Walk was a huge success,\u201d said Luann Rabe, president of the Munroe-Meyer Guild. \u201cThe weather was perfect, and the gardens were beautiful because of all the rain we received last month. People enjoyed that the gardens we selected were in close proximity, and some were asking where next year\u2019s walk will be. Our work for next year starts now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event brought in more than $40,000 from ticket sales and donations, according to an early tally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gardens were open to the public for the event, which supports innovative programming and research at the Munroe-Meyer Institute. The guild has a history of using its fundraising to provide seed grant funding for successful MMI programs, including GoBabyGo! Nebraska, the Opportunity Brew Coffee Cart and the virtual-reality Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Therapy (HABIT) Camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skywalk to be closed temporarily<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The skywalk from Lot 50 to the Durham Outpatient Center will be closed for a brief period on the evening of Friday, July 19, and morning of Saturday, July 20, for carpet replacement. The work is expected to run between 6 p.m. July 19 through 10 a.m. July 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skywalk users will have to cross Emile Street outside to get between Lot 50 and Durham Outpatient Center. Detour signs will be posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campus food vendors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food vendors are available on both the east and west sides of the UNMC Omaha campus, serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. The current schedule is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
