Volunteers are needed for the 2024 #WeAreUNMC BBQ, which will be held Aug. 28. Positions include event set-up and cleanup, beverage and game stations, giveaway tables, and other activities. Shifts vary between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. To volunteer,\u00a0please sign up online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, the UNMC Office of Sustainability strives to make this event a zero-waste success, ensuring that 90% of the waste generated is diverted from landfills. This year, the organizers aim to surpass last year’s impressive diversion rate of 74%. Join the effort by volunteering with the Office of Sustainability at this event by signing up online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend the all-campus BBQ from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza. Enjoy free food (while supplies last), giveaways (while supplies last), music and backyard games. All are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is hosted by the UNMC Student Senate and the Student Life Inclusion and Diversity Office, sponsored in part by the UNMC Alumni Association, Metro Credit Union, GreenSlate Management and Bergman Incentives, in collaboration with the Center for Healthy Living, the Office of Community Engagement, the Department of Strategic Communications, Sodexo, the Office of Sustainability and the UNMC Bookstore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the case of poor weather, the BBQ will be held in the gym inside the Center for Healthy Living.<\/p>\n
