Ashlei Spivey, a candidate for Nebraska Legislature in District 13 (which includes parts of North Omaha and northeast Douglas County), visited UNMC for a tour in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spivey toured UNMC\u2019s Davis Global Center and the iEXCEL health care simulation program. IEXCEL\u2019s Moriah McCune highlighted the program\u2019s interactive digital iWall technology, the holographic theater and surgical and clinical simulation spaces, including a room with \u201cVicki,\u201d a labor and delivery manikin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spivey said the visit showed her the program\u2019s intention around making sure people in the medical field can practice care and get it right, which benefits people on the receiving end of the care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are seeing our medical care really be intentional and centered in the health and well-being of our community members,\u201d she said. \u201cI think it was really great to see this and what we are investing in.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
